Canadians should register with the Canadian Embassy in Moscow if they are going to be in Russia for longer than three months. Registration can be done on-line. To register on-line, please proceed to www.voyage.gc.ca/main/sos/rocapage-en.asp and complete all the required fields.
 
For emergency assistance after hours, call the Canadian Embassy in Moscow and follow the instructions. You may also call the Department in Ottawa toll-free at 810-800-201-41012 or use the services offered by Canada Direct. Canada Direct, offered by Canada's major telecommunications companies, provides travellers with toll-free and hassle-free access to the Canadian telephone network. The Canada Direct access numbers from Moscow are 755-5045, where a Canadian operator is always available. Outside Moscow, the Canada Direct access numbers are 8095-755-5045 and 8-10-800-110-1012. ASSISTANCE FOR AMERICANS IN RUSSIA
 
The United States Embassy in Moscow and its constituent posts in St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, and Yekaterinburg provide a range of services to American citizens in Russia. The Consular Section at each post is staffed by at least one American officer as well as American and/or Russian staff who can help Americans with a variety of problems and issues which confront visitors to Russia.
 
The American Citizen Services Unit (telephone (7) (095) 728-5577 is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., , except on Russian and American holidays. In the event of an emergency, American citizens may telephone (7) (095) 728-5577 anytime from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. After 6:00 p.m., please call the Embassy duty officer at (7) (095) 728-5000. (Moscow is 8 hours ahead of Washington).
